Letter from the President

Wishing you and your family happy and healthier times. The PCA had its Annual Meeting and elected new officers for 2021-2022. It's a privilege to serve and our volunteer Board members are all ready to help strengthen and grow our membership. We welcome all ideas and we encourage you to volunteer to be a part of our various efforts.

Please allow me to address four important items with you:

First, please feel free to connect with me directly should you wish to discuss anything regarding our neighborhood. Email:  BW@ContellationsGroup.com  Mobile: 212/490-6000

Secondly, we are experiencing many film and television "shoots" at various private residences in the neighborhood. If you are planning to be a host property for these activities, we are asking you to PLEASE give me a call prior to a permit being submitted to the City. Issues and strong concerns have been voiced by both our Board and individual neighbors on this issue. We believe that open communication prior to permitting will help alleviate stress and impact upon individual neighbors and the community as a whole.

Thirdly - it is our goal to continue to support and enhance the service provided by our amazing, law enforcement staffed, Paces Patrol. Our patrol is comprised of Atlanta Police Officers, working off-duty for the PCA. They are all highly qualified professionals and we thank each and every one of our officers for the part they play in keeping us safe.

The single greatest benefit of membership in the Paces Civic Association is access to the close attention and service of our Patrol. While crime in the City of Atlanta as a whole is increasing at an alarming rate, crime in our neighborhood has been held at bay. We truly believe this is because of the deterrent created by the visibility and vigilance of our Patrol.

Lastly, we are very concerned about the looming changes to City of Atlanta zoning related ordinances. These changes will significantly impact the Paces neighborhood and our investment within the community. It is an integral part of our mission to study these proposals and form positions in reference to them. We may, from time to time, engage professional and volunteer experts to work on our behalf to support or oppose these policy initiatives. We encourage anyone with experience or expertise on these issues to contact us should you wish to become involved on this front.

If you are currently a member of the PCA, we thank you very much for your support.
As a member, if you are aware of neighbors who are not members, please encourage them to join!  Full membership is our goal....but we need your help and support in doing so.

I will close by offering blessings and best wishes to all and look forward to seeing you around our beautiful neighborhood.

Bill White
